The Case For Ron Paul. 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 49
I was born in the United States during the midst of the baby boom generation of the early 1950's.
As such, I grew up believing that the United States was the one and only just, generous, prosperous, and freest nation on Earth.
Just like Superman, I believed in "truth, justice, and the American way".

My schooling indoctrinated me to believe this, and to hate everything Communist, Socialist, or Nazi.
Television reinforced this vision of the American panacea, with Disney, Davy Crockett, and Andy of Mayberry providing the role models.

As I grew into my teens, I began to discover that things were not exactly the way they were being described to us.
I realized that the war in Vietnam was not about promoting freedom and justice, but was about the military-industrial complex that President Eisenhower warned us about in his farewell address.
I learned that the western expansion of the US was not a noble case of our "manifest destiny" that brought "civilization" to the "savages", but rather genocide, germ warfare, suppression, broken "treaties", and slaughter.
I learned how our nation was based on the slave trade, a practice that was outlawed in the home countries of our settlers.

As I grew older, I began to learn of the true way our government had acted during its history.
It was not any different than any other expansionist, militarist, imperialist, colonialist power.
I learned of the secret rigging of elections & assassination of elected leaders.
I learned of the manipulation of our own elections, and the stealing of power by forces behind the scenes.
I learned of the true nature of the coup d'etat of 1963.
I learned of things like the Gulf of Tonkin, the USS Liberty, and the CIA drug dealing.

It made me sad to be an American.

Unfortunately, things have gotten worse.
Any thinking person knows that the only "conspiracy theory" about 911 is the governments outright lies about what happened that day.
We have taken so many actions from the annals of Nazi Germany, that there is hardly a difference.
Reichstag fire, Patriot Act, Department of Homeland Security, Blackwater.
Look them up. See how we've copied their every step, right down to the names.

Americans thought that we had elected "A change we can believe in".
What a crock of shit.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

For the first time in my life, we have someone who believes in the things I was taught as a schoolboy, most notably, that we have a Constitution, and it is a brilliant document, written by brilliant men.
For all our recent Presidents, it has merely been a suggestion.

Ron Paul understands that freedom and liberty are more important than empire and control.
He understands the criminality of the Fed and the fractional banking system, and that only a sound currency can stabilize a nation and prevent it from spending worthless paper on wars of expansion and imperialism.
He understands that a government that fears its people is a government of liberty, while a people that fears its government is a government of tyranny.
He understands, as NONE of these game show hosts do, that we are a REPUBLIC, or a nation of law, and NOT a democracy, or the tyranny of the majority, as was the case in Nazi Germany.
Ron Paul understands, as our Supreme Court does not, that corporations are NOT people, and are NOT permitted the freedom to influence elections by spending unrestricted, unaccounted, unreported money to buy candidates and elections.

Ron Paul does not get corporate support.
He will not take it if proffered.
His donations come in small amounts from ordinary citizens.
He is overwhelmingly supported by the active military servicemen, more than all his opponents combined.

He came in second in the Iowa straw poll, 150 votes behind Michelle Bachman IN HER HOME STATE, yet he was invited on no television shows the next day.
He has consistently polled in the top four, usually in the top two or three, in an ever changing Republican parade of "leaders".
Bachman has gone from 30% support to 1%, yet the media still pays more attention to her than to Ron Paul.
Cain came from nowhere to number one or two, despite his half baked, regressive, and unworkable 9-9-9 plan.
He is a joke, and he will fade away.
Rick Perry can't even remember his own hastily written campaign platform.
Huntsman is the product of a wealthy and privileged lineage, being the heir to Huntsman Chemical.
Romney was a job destroying, private equity vampire, who made his millions by hollowing out US companies, shipping jobs overseas, and selling the carcasses.

Yet the media completely ignores Ron Paul and his libertarian, founding father philosophy of less interference from the Federal Government, less power to the corporatocracy, and more power back to the people.
During Saturdays debate on foreign policy, Ron Paul was given 90 seconds by the pimps at CBS out of a one hour debate!
We got to hear from Bachman about how waterboarding is a good thing, and provides us with valuable information!
I'm sure Bachman would admit to being Bin Ladens call girl if she were waterboarded.

After the prior debate, the lap dogs at CNBC took down their OWN POLL after they saw Ron Paul overwhelmingly (70%) running away with it. They claimed it must have been hacked.
Prior to that, the FOX whores did the same thing, without any explaination at all.

Perry, Romney, and Cain hastily wrote books prior to their campaigns. If you really want to have a good laugh, read Cain's pulp fiction about waking up in the White House.
Ron Paul has written many books over his 30 years of government service.
Books like "Defending Liberty" lay out his position on issues from abortion to foreign aid, to warfare.
You don't have to agree with them all, but when is the last time you EVER saw a candidate write down his position on two dozen issues?
The Federalist Papers comes the closest.
His book, "End the Fed" is self explanatory, and is a concise examination of the perverted role of the Federal Reserve in bringing us endless cycles of boom and bust, all the while funding our illegal wars, and destroying the dollar.

If you, like me, are tired of your country being stolen in broad daylight while you watch, then you must do all you can to elect Ron Paul.
Donate if you can.
Read his books.
Tell your friends and family about his ideas.
Ignore the media prostitutes.
Don't let your vote be bought, and don't believe it when they say he can't be elected.

To quote "Network",

"I'm madder than hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore".

Arguably the worst crime of the media propaganda machine Bobbby.

It's one thing to simply misinform people, even intentionally deceive them. However, for the media to BRAZENLY insert itself into the political process in this manner by CENSORING a popular candidate is as outrageous as it gets.

But PERHAPS it will accomplish one thing: show enough Americans how their supposedly beloved "democracy" has been STOLEN from them.

bobbny,

Excellent !!!

I'm about your age and when I joined the BBC, I was in that transition of realizing how much my education was a lie. I knew bits and pieces, but the overall stench really hit me hard.

I was fortunate enough to get bits and pieces from my parents, but it took a few books for it to hit me, "the south was right", "the real Lincoln" and "Silver Stealers".
Now I know why my parents would never buy gas from standard oil (exxon / mobile). A simple example.

In 1979 on the University of Florida campus they showed free movies at the band shell on Friday nights. "Monster of the black lagoon" you know old "B-rated" drive in movies.
On this night they showed "Refer Madness", my first realization of United States of America PROPAGANDA !!!

To realize I spent the next twenty five years in denial.
Slowly the reality, made me bitter.

Now that I can SEE, I'm just plain mad. With a touch of betrayal.

I'm a registered Libertarian (national committee supporter) , I feel the duopoly will corrupt the party. But not the principles.

I had to drive for six highway hours last Thursday and put on "conservative radio". First guy Niel Bortz (?), a "libertarian party" speaker, never mention Ron Paul once, just Obama banter for two hours, the next host "Hannity(?), a breakdown of four hours went something like this one hour of steady feed, destroying the credibility of the women accussing Herman Cain, as 90's sexual harrassment women looking for fame and fortune and there shady past. Newt Gingritch new, mature, self assured self and the move up the polls he's making and how he and Rommney together could turn this thing around (excuse my spelling but that shit went on for three hours).
Six hours of non stop "conservative party" radio and not once was Ron Paul mentioned.

Like I said I feel the Libertarian Party (National) is slowly getting kidnapped.
Our local and state are endorsing candidates with religious agendas (whats taught in school), commandments in granite at the court house ect.

I'll show and give my support to Ron Paul.

I'm proud to be a registered libertarian and that's were my fundamental beliefs are. But, my support to the national, state and local party is going to "two hens and a rooster", for World Vision.

It's very upsetting to see Ron Pauls name not appear but just disappear right before our eyes and ears.

How did you put it "what a crock of shit"

Yes bobbny, its made me sad to be an American too !!!

The American people will not be swayed by the media chuckleheads who say, "Ron who?"

Ron Paul is in a deadheat in Iowa, second in New Hampshire, and beats Obama head to head again & again.

www.ronpaul2012.com/2011/11/17/ron-paul-continues-iowa-surge/

The best part is that his supporters are vigilant & dedicated.
They are not like supporters of Bachman, Cain. Perry, et al., who flee in embarassment when their candidate inserts foot in mouth, or has a brain fart trying to remember their own ideas, or what happened in Libya.

The RP momentum just keeps building.

I'm REALLY torn here Bobbbny.

Obviously Ron Paul would mean a "return to democracy" for the United States...which seems to make it a CERTAINTY that IF he ever got elected he would be "JFK'd". It would seem a terrible shame for Ron Paul to have to DIE just to prove that the U.S. no longer has a functional democracy.

I don't see any PRINCIPLED candidate EVER being allowed to "win" in the current system. This is why I would MUCH rather see the energy of motivated/aware Americans going into the creation of either a VIABLE "3rd party", or simply the ABOLITION of both of the "Republocrat" parties.

Don't be torn, Jeff.
Let's be logical about this.
The abolition of the Republicrats is simply not possible.
A third party is also a dream, and even if it gained any traction at all, would be much too late in coming to stop the accelerating race into economic collapse and a police state.
Ron Paul realizes this, and that is why he is running as a "Republican" with a beard and mustache.

You are correct that his election would mean a return to democracy for the US. (I believe you meant to say "the restoration of the Republic").
You are also correct in recognizing the threat that he poses to the entrenched elite.
I hope you & I are both wrong about him becoming a martyr, but if he does, I believe that would be an enormous spark for the pent up frustration of the 99% who are the real losers in the growing fascism of America.

Thomas Jefferson once said that a democracy needs a revolution every couple of generations just to prevent the concentration of power in the hands of the few, such as we are seeing today.
We haven't had one in so long, that I fear the next one will be a doozy.

Here is a great post from our friend, Bix Weir.
It is a full 19 minutes of Ron Paul at the last Republican debate.
The difference between this forum & the others is that there is no panel of moderators deciding who gets the question.
The moderator asks a question, and the candidates who want to answer simply raise their hand.
Only someone who is sure of their answer wades in.
That's why Ron Paul got all this time, while the game show hosts stood back & tried to formulate a coherent thought.

The momentum behind the Ron Paul campaign has surged more than anyone would have thought 6 months ago. Here's his highlights from the latest debate in which he had his strongest showing...

If you've been traveling on the Road to Roota for long enough you know that it is my belief that the Good Guys have chosen Ron to be the next President of the United States. To be the one to lead us OUT of the misery and despair caused by the destruction the entire financial system. I'm not saying "He's the Chosen one!" in a biblical or philosophical context but rather he is a big PART of the plan to REVIVE AMERICA.

I hate hearing people tell me that they are "bugging out" of the USA because of our current situation. They are afraid of Marshall Law, gold confiscation, FEMA Camps and all the vile paths our country seemingly is headed towards. Most of these people are very smart on the economics of the situation and claim they are showing foresight in preparing for a very bleak future in America.

THESE ARE NOT TRUE AMERICANS!

Freedom is NOT easy. It must be EARNED. Our forefathers knew that and sacrificed their lives, wealth and future for what they knew to be right. The truth is that those who are fleeing America now most likely never DESERVED America. When confronted with the daunting task of removing an abusive power they have fled. They lack the strength and fortitude to challenge the abusers, remove them from power and CHANGE the path for Americans. Where's their COURAGE TO FIGHT? Again our forefathers gave us a game plan in the Declaration of Independence:

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

This is nothing new my friends. If you want to enjoy all that our country promises it is your duty to FIGHT FOR IT!

We have a wonderful country with boundless possibilities. Our forefathers gave us the framework for our people to THRIVE but our guiding light has been dimmed over the past 100 years with the virtual destruction of our Constitution. We don't have to reinvent anything. All we have to do is REMEMBER who we are and start ACTING like ourselves emphasizing the virtues of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. We must uphold the Rule of Law while at the same time embracing the rights, responsibilities and self-determination of the individual citizen.

These days our country may seem like it's on it's knees but we are far from "Down for the Count". We ARE rising up. We WILL shed the shackles of our controllers. And we will REALIZE our true potential as free and independent human beings.

It is our destiny!

May the Road you choose be the Right Road.
