TOPIC: US preparing for invasion on Syria

Samix, as far as analogies go, this one is pretty clumsy in linguistic terms. I'm wondering if it sounds better/makes more sense in translated form?

As far as the general sentiment goes, it's just what we see everywhere/all the time: trends/facts which are entirely obvious are entirely invisible to the vast majority of the Sheep. Such acute intellectual tunnel-vision is (again) evidence of brainwashed minds.

I'd like to see a lot less 'whining' about how "people won't listen", and a lot more time/energy/thought being put into how to implement anti-brainwashing strategies -- and actually get at the ROOT of the problem.

Your prayer seems to have been answered Jeff, here you have Moaz al Khatib, the head of the SNC, which according to the western governments, their allies and media is the leader of the Syrian opposition and by extention the democratically elected leader of the Syrian revolution, just yesterday or maybe shortly he visited a liberated town somewhere in Aleppo, I was expecting that he would be mobbed by the people chanting and him standing on a platform giving a speech or something like that, but what we have is that his visit was a complete non-event on the streets of that city where some even did not care about his existance!

C'mon Samix! I think your assessment is overly harsh here...

...after all, this is a MUCH friendlier/more supportive reaction than the U.S. got after it "liberated" Iraq. And I can't ever recall a clip of Paul Bremer taking a "casual stroll" down the streets of Baghdad.

Clearly this man must be loved by all the people...

Jeff, after viewing the clip once more and after much deliberation, I think that the people in Syria or atleast the city that he was visiting, do not know his face at all! Just like all other puppets this guy seems to be for western public consumption, a Syrian spokesperson for the sake of Amercica! (lol)

Samix, having a much better perspective for "the Muslim in the Street" than the rest of us (lol); perhaps you can shed some light for me on something which has never made sense.

How can the West (time after time) simply "parachute" in these Western-trained (and often Western-raised) Puppets into Muslim nations and then plant them at the head of governments?

We talk here regularly about how "brainwashed" and "apathetic" the Sheep are in North America. However, even 'our' Sheep likely wouldn't tolerate some corrupt/incompetent Stooge being brought in from some "foreign" country to take over our government.

It's OK if they're corrupt/incompetent Stooges. We're used to that. But the Stooge must be "one of us..."

I think almost always it is at the barrel of the gun that these guys are planted atleast in the modern times, example: Karzai, Noori Al Maliki, in other times them it is due to propaganda, further to maintain the power structure, eliminating anyone who dissents and this can be seen amply in dictatorial regimes in the Muslim world.

Recently the west, especially the US decieded to send non-lethal aid to Syria, some Syrians tried to protect themselves with the items sent by the US and something like this happened. (LOL)

Inspite of the wests insistence on not allowing arms to reach the rebels, sophisticated weapons have made way into Syria, below is a video of a rebel fighter downing a Jet using a Anti Aircraft Missile.

Sorry Samix, maybe I'm not following the "official" story close enough. I thought the West was openly supplying arms to the (so-called) "Rebels" -- and proud of it...?

No Jeff, the west as well as the allies of the west are not supplying any arms to the rebels because they just are not sure about who to give the arms to ? They fear that the arms will fall into the hands of the "Islamists", they learnt this the hard way when the west supplied arms to get rib of Gaddafi and the arms from Gaddafi's warehouses and I suspect as well as the one's supplied by the west was taken away and reached the Islamists in Mali and other spots, thus this time they are very cautious.

In Libya the west did not care about who it was fighting along and aiding in toppling Gaddafi, thus the west aided and abetted Islamists, Secularists, Anarchists ? just to get Gaddafi off the throne, but now they seem to have learnt a lesson.

The rebels have been able to sustain the push using Assads weapons against himself whenever they capture a base or intercept a convoy. Sometimes, what I could glean from some youtube clips, they do not even care about holding the base, they just take the weapons and drive off.

Some western allies are suppling weapons to the "Secular"(Please note according to RAND secular in the Muslim world means anything but Islamist) sections of the FSA, but there are reports where these "Secular" rebels were selling these weapons to the Islamists.
